Description
This chart was commissioned by Pacific Standard Time (CSU Long Beach) to celebrate the life of vocalist and creative force Al Jarreau. Al composed this song and performed it quite a bit live, although it is not one of more well known songs (view a live performance on YouTube). Set in a catchy 6/8 feel, the song features Al’s trademark vocal patter over an adventurous harmonic progression. This arrangement gives an opportunity for your talented tenor to shine, and the chorus features a trio over top of the full choir. There is an open section for soloing, and a fun surprise at the end!
