Terms: Our Copyright and License Agreement
Please read this agreement before using music from Anchor Music Publications! Before you use the music in any manner, you must agree to follow this contract. Do not place your order if you are not willing to abide by this agreement.
Privileges and responsibilities for the music contained in your packet are granted to you by Anchor Music under the following terms and conditions:
GRANT OF PRIVILEGE
In consideration of a portion of the fee that you paid for this music, Anchor Music Publications grants to you a non-exclusive right to use the music under the terms and limitations of this agreement.
OWNERSHIP
As the purchaser, you own the paper upon which the music is printed, but Anchor Music Publications retains all ownership, rights and copyright to the actual music. All music is protected under United States Copyright Law.
SALES RESTRICTIONS
You may not distribute this music to the public, nor to any private person or entity, by sale or other transfer of ownership for compensation, or by rental, lease, or lending for compensation, in any format.
TRANSFER RESTRICTIONS
You may not loan, entrust, assign, rent, share, lease, or otherwise transfer the music to anyone on a temporary or permanent basis without the expressed written permission of Anchor Music Publications.
MECHNICAL & SYNC LICENSES
Purchasers seeking mechanical licenses to record audio, or sync licenses to post or broadcast a video of Anchor Music Publications music will need the contact the composer of the work, the company that administers the copyright of that composer’s work, or a third party license facilitator like the Harry Fox Agency. The print license we obtain for our arrangers is legally entirely separate from mechanical & sync licenses.
COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
If no limit is stated on the first page of the chart, you may make as many copies of the music as you deem necessary for your group. You must reproduce Anchor Music Publications’ copyright interest in the music unless earlier terminated. This agreement will terminate automatically without notice from Anchor Music Publications if you fail to comply with any of the terms or limitations of this agreement. Upon termination you must return all copies of the music to Anchor Music Publications at your cost, and destroy any electronic downloads.
MISCELLANEOUS
This agreement is the complete and exclusive agreement between you and Anchor Music Publications relating to all music and shall be interpreted under the laws of the State of California applicable to contracts made anywhere in the United States. The music and any accompanying materials of Anchor Music Publications are protected under federal copyright laws. Unauthorized copying or use of these materials beyond the scope of this agreement is forbidden. You may be held legally responsible for any copyright infringement that is caused by your failure to abide by the terms and conditions of this agreement.
