David Thorne Scott is a singer, songwriter and arranger known for honoring the tradition while also breaking new ground.
He writes innovative arrangements performed by his group Vocalogy, while his adaptations of music of the swing era are performed by his Vintage Vocal Quartet.
David’s album “Shade” was named a “Top 5 CD of the Year” by the Jazz Education Journal. “Thornewood” explores the sweet spot between Jazz and Americana, while “Hopeful Romantic” consists of smoky jazz, powerful rock anthems, bouncy pop and moody hip-hop musings.
David has been a featured soloist with the Boston Pops, the Capital Jazz Orchestra, the New England Wind Symphony, the Melrose Symphony, the Cape Symphony, and the Bill Elliott Swing Orchestra. He was a member of Syncopation and toured with the Four Freshmen.
David is Professor of Voice at Berklee College of Music.
