Hunter is currently a student at the School for Music Vocations at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa where he studies Professional Music. In 2020, Hunter earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Management from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa as well as his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas Permian Basin in 2021. He was a three-year member of Luther’s Vocal Jazz Ensemble and directed the group in the Spring of 2020.
In 2020 Hunter won the Iowa Choral Directors Association/Iowa Composers Forum composition competition for his vocal jazz ballad “A Cloudy Day in April”. He has a passion for arranging music, mainly for vocal jazz, but has also arranged for choir and show choir. Multiple charts of his are published on Sheet Music Plus which have had international sales.
