Peter Eldridge is well known as the lowest voice of the New York Voices, but his quintessential solo albums add a ton of individuality and flavor to the vocal jazz genre. This piece is scored for SATB vocal choir and piano, with a wonderful texture using a mix of choral voicings and individual lines. The reflective lyric uses lots of space and will be a lovely moment in your set.
From the arrangers: “Within each phrase of this piece, the melody is passed from section to section. Take note of the dynamic markings, as they will indicate which part has the melodic line at any given moment. If available, acoustic or electric bass can double the left hand of the piano, and drums can add impressionistic elements and color to this arrangement.”
SATB Range: Soprano up to D5, Alto down to A3, Tenor up to F4, Bass down to F2.
Includes the SATB combined vocal/piano score, and a separate piano only score. Difficulty level 3.
